In recent years, many insects species cause damage to agriculture and forest areas in Georgia. The harmful insects will threat to the Batumi Botanical Garden in the upcoming years. It is important to know these harmful species for combating. We have  found 6 important harmful insect species in Batumi and around. This species are Coryhucha ciliata,Corythucha arcuata, Hyphantria cunea, Lymantria dispar, Euproctis chrysorrhoea, Ricania simulans. All of these species are polyphagous and the number of host plants is very high. If they have got hight population level they can damage trees and make trees more susceptible to other pests. In order to prevent them to do damage to plants in Batumi Botanical Garden, plants should be frequently checked and İf pest insects are found, they should be combated by appropriate methods.
